Just as a comparison, this megacity would be as big as the fictional “New York - Atlantic City - Philadelphia” megalopolis, or the not less impressive “L.A. - San Diego - Palm Springs” sprawl, or the always lovely “Milan - Torinto - Genova” and just a tiny bit smaller than Switzerland altogether.  

The word planning is the key fact. I mean, I think the process of merging all these cities is unstoppable. The diference is the government of China is making this planification, but not from now: Great Leap Forward - Harvard Design School Project on the City
